Software Engineer (Professional Services)
SoftPro has an opening for a Software Engineer on the Professional Services Team in our Raleigh, NC office. In this position you will design and code updates and custom requests to SoftPro's existing suite of products. You will also work with internal teams building custom tools to facilitate internal business processes. Both internal and external customers will have a varied level of technical expertise. Additionally, you will be responsible for:
Unit testing bug fixes or enhancements to ensure working code prior to QA testing. Use a de-bugger when possible to identify bugs during the development of a unit or module; Entering any existing issues into the tracking system; Following established procedures for file management and backup, version control, coding, commenting the code, updating the issue tracker and/or making entries in history files, and documenting error messages; Writing detailed specifications by the end of coding each module (include pertinent technical information for support, documentation, and testing, and any assumptions or limitations which arise during the development which are not obvious).
Skill Requirements: Strong experience in Visual Studio, C#, XML and SQL, with experience in C++, and MFC; Must have strong customer service and communication skills; Must exhibit a high-level of analytical skills and attention to details; Must be able to convey technical information to non-technical people; Must be able to work collaboratively and cohesively with all team members.
Education Requirements: An Associate's Degree or higher in Computer Science is desirable but not required. Microsoft Desktop and Server operating systems certifications (MCP) are also highly desirable, but not required. SoftPro has an opening for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer in our Raleigh, NC office. In this position you will develop test plans and write test cases for enhancements and updates to SoftPro’s Business Integration product line. Additionally, you will be responsible for:
Developing detailed Test Plans and writing thorough Test Cases; Entering existing bugs or sugs into the bug/sug tracker; Assisting internal staff to assess business solutions, including gathering and defining requirements, and effectively translating business needs into specifications used to create technical designs and detailed specifications; Following established procedures for file management and updating the bug/sug tracker; Working collaboratively and cohesively with all team members.
